You will probably need to shorten sag (i.e. tighten the shock lock nut and turn it clockwise). But what if your weight is less than average? Free sag on a dirt bike is the suspension measurement with the wheel of your dirt bike off the ground. This means the suspension has no weight on it whatsoever. When we talk about sag, we are talking about how much your dirt bike “sags”. Or put this another way, and in particular with reference to “free sag” it’s how much your shock absorber drops when there’s no weight pushing through the suspension from the wheel.
